I’ve been writing since I was 18 and a student at Reed College, in Portland, OR, then later as an engineering student at the University of Kentucky, taking about 20 years or more away from poetry to work as an aerospace engineer, computer store owner and loudspeaker designer.  I began writing again in the year 1999.

I’ve had the pleasure of editing the print version of Miller’s Pond poetry magazine for over six years. I live in Kentucky, a state which has an incredible variety of writers of all kinds, especially poets, with a very broad and deep literary tradition, visible on the national level.   I’m particularly grateful to the late James Baker Hall,  and to everyone in the great literary community of this state.
